About the County Theatre Group

The County Theatre Group is an incorporated, vibrant, not for profit, theatrical group whose aim is to share and promote theatre in Prince Edward County, Ontario. The core of the group was founded in 1999 and continues to grow and flourish in its productions.

Our Purpose

To provide entertainment to the local community through various theatrical performances by the group and in particular the bi-annual, full scale production at The Regent Theatre and other County venues. We also foster talent throughout the County, offering promising actors, musicians, and vocalists, both students and adults, an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.

Membership

Who Can Become a Member of The County Theatre Group?

The simple answer is anyone who is interested in theatre.

Auditions are held for specific roles, but a love of theatre could get you a place on stage! The Board of Directors meets regularly starting in January and carries through until November. Elections to the executive take place every other year. Rehearsals are scheduled for all productions, and active committees within the group promote the shows to the community at large.
Enthusiasm, commitment and talent are the main prerequisites.

What Benefits Can I Expect?

As a performinig member of the County Theatre Group you are given the opportunity to find a place performing in front of live audiences. An active Executive Committee is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting in June. This group works together to bring high quality shows to the community. Opportunities abound not only through performing but by taking part in one or more of the production committees e.g. costumes, set-design, painting and construction, music librarian, archivist, group photographer, newsletter, social convenor, and much, much more!

*Additional fees may apply e.g. script or score fees.
*No-one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Donations will be gratefully received. A tax receipt will be provided for all amounts of $10 or more. All financial enquiries should be directed to the treasurer."
